India is an immensely rich cultural treasure trove in myth and legend, with musical, culinary and handicraft traditions that have been passed down for generations.

From time immemorial, India has been considered a land of culture, tradition, history and religion. With its ancient history, its wide variety of peoples and religions, and because of the number of invaders, settlers and colonists, all of whom left their indelible mark, India has one of the world’s most vibrant cultural heritages.

In music, dance, food, clothing styles, art, languages and custom, internal and international influences can be clearly seen. One can easily say that Indian culture is a perfect fusion of the past and the contemporary.

Udaipur - City of Lakes
Unlike the arid cities of Rajasthan - Udaipur is an oasis located on the banks of a ancient man made lake. Founded in 1568 by Maharana Udai Singh II, the desert kingdom tucked away in the midst of hills, an impregnable citadel, an impressive royal lineage stretching back 76 generations, a do or die attitude and a fierce sense of independence characterize Udaipur.
Known as the city of lakes - Udaipur is a pleasant surprise to most people visiting Rajasthan, as are delighted by the numerous lakes, beautiful gardens, the majestic city palace complex and the romantic island palaces - Jag Mandir and Jag Niwas of lake Pichola and the formidable Sajjangarh fort which stands as a sentinel, guarding the city.
Apart from Udaipur's own splendours, there are several other places to visit in its vicinity - Jaisamand Lake, the fort of Kumbhalgarh and the temples at Ranakpur, Eklingji, Nagda, Kankroli and Nathdwara.
Udaipur is connected by air with major cities of India. Train to Delhi & Ahmedabad and nearby cities connects Udaipur.
