Rishikesh - A pilgrimage destination in the Himalayas
The Himalayan Mountains have been the home to sages from time immemorial, one such destination, nestled in the lap of the Himalayas is Rishikesh. Here you can have a spiritual experience consisting of meditation and yoga coupled with the serene atmosphere. Located at a height of about 1350 meters along the holy river Ganges, about 200 Kms northeast of Delhi, Rishikesh is the doorway to the Himalayas. It is famous for the Lakshman Jhula, a 450 feet long suspension bridge which was built in 1939.

Places to visit
Various temples ad places to visit in and around Rishikesh are the Nilkanth Mahadeo temple and the Bharat Mandir, the Vasishtha Goofa, you must also experience the Arti at Triveni Ghat, which is the confluence of the Ganga, the Yamuna and the Saraswati and is as event to witness. Rishikesh is the Yoga capital of the world and is renowned to be birthplace of Ayurveda.

Getting There
The nearest airport is Dehradun (Jolly Grant), 35 kms from Haridwar. Rishikesh is connected by rail via Haridwar (24 kms). B road Rishikesh is connected to Haridwar 24 kms & Dehradun 47kms away.

Kanyakumari - Alexandria of the East
Earstwhile Cape Comorian, Kanyakumari is located at the southern tip of the Indian subcontinent. It is the meeting point of three oceans - the Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean. The distinctive feature of Kanyakumari is that its beaches have multi-coloured sand.

Places to visit
In Kanyakumari apart from the amazing beaches, visit the Swami Vivekananda Rock Memorial, the ancient temple of Kanyakumari, which has mention in both the Hindu mythology epics - Ramayana & Mahabharata. Also visit the Gandhi Memorial, where the ashes of one of the world’s greatest leaders are kept.
Around Kanyakumari too there are great sightseeing options including the circular fort at Vattakottai, the Jain temples of Nagercoil and the ancient capital of Travencore -Padmanabhapuram, all within driving distance.

The nearest airport is at Thiruvananthapuram (80-km), which is well connected with national and International flights. Kanyakumari is well connected by train.
